IJsbrand the Bear Crochet Along

My first own CAL is finished! This was my third CAL, but the other 2 were organized by I CAL Knuffels and Haak Met Ons Mee. Then a lot of tasks will be taken care of by the administrators of those groups. This one I organized myself. Fortunately, I had help from my test crocheters Wilma, Martine and Marion. Again: thank you!

From design to CAL:

IJsbrand is specially designed to be made in a CAL (Crochet A Long). To give as many people the possibility to join the CAL, IJsbrand has been made of Royal of Zeeman. Well before Christmas, there are already a lot of CALs organized, so I decided to organize a WinterCAL.

So to get started: designing IJsbrand, designing his clothes designs, crocheting, writing it all down and take pictures. Where would I be without my memo booklet! But then: the typing the pattern, getting the pattern tested, change mistakes, translate the pattern into English and German and divide the pattern into parts!

Making messages about the CAL and set up a special group: Crochet Along with CB's Creations. In total we started with 1699 members on the group. Who would have ever expected that!?!

Also I was approached by Woolys, whether they could make packages in cotton for the CAL. A lot of fun! So if you want to make IJsbrand out of cotton and if you want a ready-made package, then is Woolys the place to be!

We started at December 21, 2018 and then 5 weeks long, every week a part of the pattern was released, so that after January 18, 2019 there would be a lot of IJsbrand-bears happily hopping around!

That also includes, in those 5 weeks, answering questions about the pattern, about how to download the pattern, about forgetting to download a pattern part. Luckily, besides the help of Marion, Martine and Wilma I also had help from members themselves, who helped each other out. Of course, everyone gets a like on their post of a finished part or a complete IJsbrand.

And whether it had to be: on 22 January 2019 it was snowing! It is very nice to see all those IJsbrand-bears, but it is very special to see all the bears playing in the snow!
